YV Ceramics is a small pottery studio run by Yulia, in western New York.

Pottery began somewhat unexpectedly. Working in medicine full time, often means living in a fast-paced environment where decisions are made quickly and the stakes are high. Clay offered something entirely different — a slower, more reflective process where time and patience shape the final piece.

What started as a way to unwind after work gradually became something much more meaningful.

There is something deeply satisfying about taking a material as simple as clay, something pulled from the earth, and shaping it into objects that become part of everyday life. A favorite mug held in the morning, a bowl placed on the table for a loved one, a small dish used without much thought but returned to again and again.

Made with Heart and Home in Mind

Yulia has always appreciated how the things we live with every day can be both functional and beautiful when they are made with care.

That idea sits at the center of YV Ceramics, creating objects that are meant to be used often, to age well, and to feel natural in the hand.

Crafted with Care

Each piece is made in small batches, shaped on the wheel and finished by hand through trimming, glazing, and firing. The clay used in the studio is sourced from various parts of the United States from a long-standing ceramic supplier, and every piece is made slowly from start to finish in the studio. Because the work is handmade, subtle variations in form and surface are part of the process. No two pieces are exactly alike — and that individuality is part of what makes handmade objects special.
